My Top 10 Favorite Worlds in Kingdom Hearts III

Kingdom Hearts III was a culmination of years of anticipation, and the worlds of a Kingdom Hearts game are always at the top of fans minds. From classic Disney locales to original settings, the game offered an unforgettable journey. Here’s my personal ranking of the top 10 worlds in the game.

1. Keyblade Graveyard

The Keyblade Graveyard takes the top spot. This isn’t just a world; it’s the culmination of everything Kingdom Hearts has built up to. The desolate landscape, the haunting music, and the sheer scale of the final battles create an atmosphere of intense drama and emotional weight.

2. Olympus

Based on “Hercules” and returning from KH1 and KH2, Olympus in KH3 felt like a step up from its previous iterations. The sprawling Mount Olympus, the city of Thebes, and the thrilling Titan battles were all visually stunning. It was an incredible start the game.

3. Toy Box

Based on “Toy Story” which is one of my favorite movies, Toy Box was a long time fan’s dream come true. Exploring Andy’s room as a miniature figure was a nostalgic treat, making this world a true standout. The main location of the world, Galaxy Toys is incredible to explore as well. Every moment of the world is a blast to play through.

4. Scala ad Caelum

Scala ad Caelum, the final world of the game, was a visually breathtaking and enigmatic experience. Exploring this ancient city and facing its challenges was a fitting end to the game. Kingdom Hearts is famous for its final boss fights and the ones that take place in this world are some of the best.

5. Monstropolis

Based on “Monsters, Inc.”, Monstropolis was a blast from start to finish. The comedic interactions between the characters and jumping through doors to explore Monsters Incorporated were, and of course the iconic scene with Vanitas were highlights.

6. San Fransokyo

Based on “Big Hero 6”, San Fransokyo offers a huge city for Sora to navigate. Interacting with Baymax, Hiro, and the rest of the heroes of Big Hero 6 is fun. I also enjoyed the inclusion of a corrupted Dark Baymax.

7. Twilight Town

Twilight Town, a staple of the Kingdom Hearts series, returned in KH3. It acted as a hub world of sorts for the game where Sora could cook with Remmy or visit the 100 Acre Wood.

8. Kingdom of Corona

Based on “Tangled”, the Kingdom of Corona is a charming world. The lush forests, the town, and the lantern festival were all beautifully rendered. Exploring with Rapunzel and Flynn and participating in the lantern festival were wonderful.

9. The Caribbean

The Caribbean in KH3 was a massive improvement over its previous iteration – Port Royal from KH2. The vast open sea, the thrilling ship battles, and the exploration of islands made it feel like a pirate adventure.

10. Arendelle

Based on “Frozen”, while last on this list, it’s not a bad world. The visuals are nice, but I would have preferred to explore inside Elsa’s frozen castle or the city or Arendelle instead of an underground labyrinth.
