Kirby and the Forgotten Land: My Top 10 Ability Picks!

Kirby and the Forgotten Land absolutely blew me away! The leap to 3D was seamless and the new Mouthful Mode was a hilarious and inventive addition. But the heart of Kirby has always been its Copy Abilities, and Forgotten Land delivered. After multiple playthroughs, here are my top 10 copy abilities.

1. Sword

Classic, reliable, and more versatile than ever! The Sword ability in Forgotten Land feels incredibly fluid, with powerful combos and devastating charged attacks. The range and speed are perfect for almost any situation. Plus, the evolved forms are absolutely epic. The Morpho Knight Sword evolution is the greatest and most powerful ability in the game.

2. Hammer

When you need raw power, the Hammer is your go-to. Smashing through obstacles and enemies with a massive hammer (or hammers) is incredibly satisfying. The charged attacks are classic move, and the evolved forms offer even more destructive potential. The Masked Hammer evolution is based on Masked Dedede and is incredibly powerful.

3. Tornado

This ability is pure chaotic fun! Whipping up a swirling vortex of destruction and sending enemies flying is always entertaining. The Tornado’s mobility makes it great for navigating tricky platforming sections, and the evolved forms add even more destructive power. The Storm Tornado evolution creates a massive, multi-hitting tornado.

4. Ice

The Ice ability is both powerful and strategic. Freezing enemies solid and then sending them sliding into each other is incredibly effective. The defensive capabilities, like creating an ice shield, also make it a valuable asset. The Blizzard Ice evolution unleashes a devastating ice storm that freezes everything in its path.

5. Ranger

A brand new ability! The ranged attacks are precise and powerful, and the charged shots can pierce through multiple enemies. The Ranger’s ability to aim and snipe from a distance makes it a great option for taking down tough bosses. The Space Ranger evolution’s charged shots are incredibly potent and visually striking.

6. Fire

A classic Kirby ability that’s always a blast to use. Setting enemies ablaze and creating fiery explosions is incredibly satisfying. The Fire ability’s mobility and crowd control make it a versatile option. The Dragon Fire evolution deals more damage and lets Kirby transform into a fiery dragon.

7. Bomb

This ability offers strategic depth and explosive fun. Carefully placing bombs and timing their detonations to maximize damage is incredibly rewarding. The evolved forms add even more variety and explosive power. The Chain Bomb evolution allows for creating a chain reaction of explosions.

8. Needle

The Needle ability is a defensive powerhouse. Covering yourself in sharp needles and rolling through enemies is incredibly effective. The evolved forms add even more defensive and offensive capabilities. The Crystal Needle evolution creates a protective barrier of crystal needles.

9. Crash

This classic one-time use ability is pure destruction. Unleashing a massive explosion that obliterates everything on screen is incredibly satisfying. While it’s limited in use, it’s perfect for clearing out tough rooms or dealing with difficult bosses.

10. Drill

Digging underground and popping up to surprise enemies is incredibly fun. The Drill ability’s versatility and ability to bypass obstacles make it a valuable asset. Plus, the evolved forms add even more digging power and offensive capabilities.

Of course, every Kirby ability has its own charm, and this list is purely subjective.
