A WALL-E Prequel

WALL-E is a beloved Pixar movie from 2008 and one of my favorites. In the world of WALL-E, Earth was ruined by pollution and evacuated by humanity. I have been intrigued with the thought of a WALL-E prequel that further explored how the Earth became a disaster. Here are some of my ideas.

The story would depict the events that led to the evacuation of Earth. It would show the beginnings of the cleanup operation. There would be scenes showing the construction of the WALL-E and EVE robots.

The villains would be BNL (Buy ‘N’ Large), the mega-corporation with a tremendous amount of power and the cause of the Earth’s deterioration. BNL and its CEO Shelby Forthright would downplay the danger, attempting to convince the world that only a temporary evacuation would be needed. All the while, they know how hopeless the situation is.

The heroes would be a group of humans and robots who believe in saving the Earth, instead of abandoning it. They will do all that they can to make sure that the Earth cleanup operation succeeds. The main character would be a robot named, HELP-E, a little robot with the directive to help and fix other robots. HELP-E’s job in the cleanup operation is to repair the countless WALL-E robots as well as other important machinery being used to clean up the Earth.

Since the prequel is hundreds of years before the events of WALL-E, the heroes would not get to see the Earth restored. However, their sacrifices would lay the groundwork for the restoration of Earth and the plant that WALL-E eventually finds being able to grow. There would be a post-credits scene, where HELP-E gets discovered and reactivated by the humans that returned to Earth.

The prequel would explore the cost of environmental neglect, and also highlight the importance of not giving up.

What do you think? Would you like to see this prequel come to life?
