Two of the most beloved Nintendo series are Mario and Kirby, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably dreaming up a dedicated crossover between them!
Picture this: the vibrant world of the Mushroom Kingdom collide with the whimsical Dream Land. Bowser, somehow manages to merge these two realities, creating a chaotic, colorful new world. It’s up to the heroes of each world to put a stop to him.
Playable Characters
This isn’t just a cameo appearance; this is a full-fledged team-up! The roster of playable characters would include: Mario, Luigi, and Kirby
Power-Ups
The potential for cooperative gameplay is astronomical. Kirby’s copy abilities and Mario and Luigi’s power ups could collide. Some classic powers are shared across Mario and Kirby like fire and ice, while others like a Cat Kirby from a Super Bell would be unique to the crossover. Here are some ideas:
- Fire Flower
- Ice Flower
- Super Bell
- Rock Mushroom
- Propeller Mushroom
- Drill Mushroom
- Bubble Flower
Bowser as the Ultimate Threat
While a new, combined villain might be tempting, keeping Bowser as the primary antagonist just makes sense. Imagine him harnessing getting his hands on some of Kirby’s iconic items to become an even more formidable foe. His classic army of Koopas, Goombas, and Piranha Plants could be re-imagined with a touch of Dream Land flair, perhaps even some abilities inspired by Kirby’s adversaries. However, as is a staple of Kirby games, a secret dark force would be the true evil. It would be corrupting Bowser, making him even more villainous than normal.
The Worlds
And what about the worlds themselves? Each world would have classic Mario and Kirby landscapes, enemies, and puzzles blended together.
World 1: A lush forest level with pipes mixed into trees. The boss would be a piranha plant variant of Whispy Woods.
World 2: A desert world with ruins from Dream Land. The boss would be Bowser Jr.
World 3: A snow world. The boss would be a controlled King Dedede.
World 4: An ocean world. The boss would be the pair of Gooper Blooper and Fatty Puffer.
World 5: A sky world in the clouds. The boss would be Kracko being ridden by a lakitu.
World 6: Bowser’s world. A lava world that ends at Bowser’s castle. The boss would of course be Bowser.
