Predicting the Mario Kart World “Donkey Kong DLC”

Mario Kart World has a huge roster of racers to choose from. The most in series history. But there is one thing that I have noticed. Donkey Kong and Pauline are a little lonely. The roster is missing some heavy hitters from the DK crew.

We all know that DLC will come to Mario Kart World at some point, and with rumors swirling about a 2026 DLC drop, here are my hopes for a potential Donkey Kong focused upcoming expansion.

New Characters

1. Diddy Kong

Diddy Kong was a strange cut from the roster. He has been a staple since Double Dash and is a no-brainer to bring back.

2. King K. Rool

The biggest surprise from the Donkey Kong Bananza was the appearance of K. Rool. Fans have been waiting decades for the Kremling King to hit the track.

3. Young Pauline

Pauline from her appearance in Donkey Kong Bananza. There are baby versions of other characters, so why couldn’t there be two versions of Pauline?

4. Dixie Kong

Dixie has only appeared in Mario Kart Tour so far in the series, but she is a key member of the DK crew that deserves a spot on the roster.

5. Funky Kong

Funky Kong is iconic, and deserves to make a triumphant return to Mario Kart!

6. Cranky Kong

The crankiest of the bunch would be an exciting addition to the game.

New Costumes

Something that surprised many is the lack of costume options for Donkey Kong and Pauline. The DLC should add new costumes for DK, Pauline, and other characters.

New Vehicles

Of course there would be new vehicles as well. The memorable Barrel Train from Double Dash should return along with new Donkey Kong inspired vehicles.

New World

With the DLC a new Donkey Kong inspired part of the open-world should be added. Imagine a new island appearing on the map filled with new tracks, challenges, and secrets!

Bonus

In addition to the Donkey Kong DLC. A smaller and perhaps free DLC could be added that brings back the classic robot, R.O.B. A free DLC character would show good will to the players and bring excitement and attention to the larger paid DLC.

What do you think? Doe the idea of a Donkey Kong focused DLC excite you? Do you have any ideas for other potential DLC packages?
