The final frontier is about to get a lot more “super.” For decades, fans have wondered what would happen if the Justice League ever crossed paths with the crew of the Starship Enterprise.
If we were to get a feature-length animated crossover, here is how that cosmic collision might unfold.
The Plot: A Crisis Across Quadrants
The story begins when Sinestro, seeking a power source beyond the reach of the Guardians of the Universe, tears a rift to another universe. On the other side of that rift, the crew of the Enterprise begins to investigate it. They end up crossing the rift into the DC universe where they are met by the Sinestro Corps. They do their best to settle things peacefully, but the Sinestro Corps take the crew prisoner. The Justice League comes to their distress signal and together they defeat Sinestro.
It is revealed that Sinestro was working for Darkseid, who sees the United Federation of Planets as a collection of worlds ripe for conquer. Darkseid sends his parademons to the rift. The Justice League and the crew of the Enterprise have to work together to save both universes.

- The Meeting of Minds: Imagine the meeting of minds of Batman and Spock while Kirk and Superman discuss the ethics of the Prime Directive versus intervening on behalf of humanity.
- A Green Lantern in Deep Space: John Stewart would find a fascinating foil in the Starfleet crew. The visual of a Green Lantern construct shielding the Enterprise is an exciting thought.
Why Animation?
An animated medium is the only way to do this justice. DC has a long history of great animated movies and shows. It relies less on top-dollar actors and potentially low quality CGI, letting the voice acting carry the show.
